SMCS in collaboration with Mindstorm Studios, Raptr Games and IGN Pakistan, hosted the IBA Game Fest

November 26-27, 2022: School of Mathematics and Computer Science (SMCS), IBA in collaboration with Mindstorm Studios, Raptr Games and IGN Pakistan, hosted the two-day ‘IBA Game Fest’, at the Main Campus. The event commenced with Dean SMCS, Dr. Shakeel Khoja’s opening remarks, followed by sessions featuring speakers which included, Dr. Shahid Hussain, Chairperson, Computer Science Department, SMCS, IBA; Mr. Yasir Awan, Director Labs, Mindstorm Studios; Shaun Ansari, CEO, Reality Forge; Habibullah Khan, Co-founder, Raptr; and Zohaib Khan, Chairman, PASHA. The kickoff session was headed by Mr. Jawwad Farid, Professor of Practice, IBA.

After the kickoff session, the teams started to move to their working stations at the event hall, where they brainstormed in building, pitching, and ideating plans for developing games. On the second day, the teams presented their ideas to the panel jury and gave their maximum to meet the expectation of the panel with their creativity and innovation.

Team National Stupidity from FAST-NUCES won the 1st prize, followed by Team Mushi (Khus Phus Factory) from IBA as the 1st runner-up, and team King Vengeance-Group-4 6775 from IBA as the 2nd runner-up. The winning team was awarded PKR 50,000 while the runners-up were awarded PKR 30,000 and PKR 20,000, respectively. The prizes were courtesy of Raptr Games.

Team Infinity from FAST-NUCES received a special mention, a Proof-of-Concept grant, and a mentoring package from Raptr Games, Mindstorm Studios, and Alchemy Technologies to take their game to its next stage.

The team from NED University won a special mention award and a collection of EPIC Swag courtesy of Mr. Fasieh Mehta from Quixel.
